Precise classification of grain sizes for optimal polishing. Well-suited for creating custom polishing agents that are not available on the market.

Our diamond products are used wherever the highest quality and precision are required. Our range can be divided into two groups:

Under the registered trademarks dia-plus and liqui-plus, we manufacture and distribute high-quality diamond polishing agents for polishing and lapping work, with which an optical quality is achieved. Specifically, these are diamond pastes, diamond suspensions, diamond spray, and diamond micro-grain sizes. We supply these directly to users in mould making, lapping machines, quality assurance, medical technology, optics, etc., as well as to resellers.

The name “Polishing World” encompasses the trade segment with high-quality polishing accessories: Here, we offer users assistive devices, equipment and tools from renowned manufacturers for polishing work in tool and mould making.

First-class raw materials for excellent products.

There are various types of diamonds. The selection of suitable raw materials, their proper processing, and the precise and clean classification of micro-grain sizes are extremely important for the quality of the final product, i.e., the lapping and polishing agent. The following diamond types can be distinguished:

Natural diamonds

feature mostly blocky, very strong particles with many short, sharp edges. Their uniform grain shape and crystal structure enable high material removal, especially with hard metals and ceramics, resulting in excellent surface quality on the workpiece.

Synthetic diamonds

Characterized by blocky to splintery particles. Their grain shape and crystal structure result in very high material removal, particularly with hardened steel. The breakage creates edges that are partially self-sharpening.

Explosive synthesis diamonds

with their round, brittle polycrystals, achieve very good polishing results, especially in the grain size range of 3 μm and finer. Thanks to their grain shape, they are very well suited for polishing suspensions used on lapping machines.

Manufacturing

In the production of all our diamond products, we use only healthy original material. This means we do not use diamonds recovered from grinding tools.

The micro-grain sizes follow the grain size D46 – the smallest grain size extracted by sieving. They are obtained through sedimentation and measured in accordance with the FEPA standard. However, due to our high-quality standards, we use narrower distribution curves for the grain sizes than usual, making our classification significantly more precise than that of other products.

For good reason:

Each grain size has an upper and lower limit. Within these limits, at least 90% by weight of the respective grain size should be met, with the remaining 10% of the mass defined as oversize and undersize. Particularly, the outliers at the upper limit can significantly reduce the overall product quality. Such coarse grains act as spacers between the workpiece and the polishing medium carrier, greatly reducing the removal performance of the grain size and destroying the surface with deep individual scratches.

To ensure compliance with the required tolerances for a first-class micro-grain size, a very high level of control is necessary. We use a laser scattering spectrometer and a powerful microscope setup in combination with computer-aided image analysis. We gladly undertake this effort to help you achieve the best possible results. Due to the high quality of our products, we can guarantee not only consistently reproducible results but also economical processing times for your workpieces.
